This course is designed to help students acquire and demonstrate the cross-curricular literacy skills that are evaluated by the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). Students will build skills in reading, writing, and oral communication through a range of authentic tasks and will apply strategies for understanding and producing information, narrative, and media texts. Successful completion of this course satisfies the provincial secondary school literacy requirement for graduation. Prerequisite: Students who have been eligible to write the OSSLT at least twice and have been unsuccessful.
