This course emphasizes the knowledge and skills required to plan and make effective presentations and to speak effectively in formal and informal contexts, using forms such as reports, speeches, debates, panel discussions, storytelling, recitations, interviews, and multimedia presentations. Students research and analyse persuasive speeches and effective speaking techniques; design and rehearse presentations for different purposes and audiences; use visual and technological aids; and assess the effectiveness of presentations. Prerequisite: Grade 10 English, Academic or Applied.
