This course introduces the concept of the function by extending students’ experiences with linear and quadratic relations. Students investigate properties of discrete and continuous functions (including trigonometric and exponential), represent functions numerically, algebraically, and graphically, solve application problems, explore inverse functions, and develop facility with equivalent algebraic expressions while reasoning mathematically and communicating through multi-step problem solving.
